My 30th album is out after Thanksgiving, but like everyone else we’re hoping for nominations for our last album, Coincidental Moment. We hope you can please take a moment to listen.
I wrote Jagged ‘Lil Blues last fall to describe how a mood can kinda creep up on you - for most of us, it’s the little things that sneak up that end up affecting us. Jagged ‘Lil Blues is probably my fav tune on the album, and I think the band sounds amazing on it. When we recorded the arrangement Blue In Green at The Village Studios last August, we recorded three takes and each solo from trumpeter Igmar Thomas was incredible, but also completely different, so it was hard to choose which was the “best”. Despite the title, there are no passages of blues in the original version, so I added a bluesy end to this arrangement on my piano. What a piece of music - we loved playing this, and hope you love listening too! Great sound by engineers: Fernando Lodeiro, Jay Newland, Eric Boulanger and Larry Mah.
