Happy May!
I recently received two World Entertainment Awards for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Performance and last week the trophies arrived. What a wonderful experience to receive this recognition for the album Lucky All Along, at the same time our new album, Extended Daydream has been in the Top Ten on the JazzWeek Chart for about four months. These are milestones that every musician feels gratitude and joy for - an indication that the music that has been created is connecting with listeners around the world. I’m not sure if music can make the world a “better place”, but for about an hour listening to our music, we hope to lift spirits everywhere - at work, at home, in the car or anywhere. I feel very honored and thankful to receive these awards and to have the support from listeners, the media, programmers and followers. Thank you!
Now that it is May, I am in the midst of my "Composing Season" for our next album that we will record this summer. I’m really happy with and excited about the new music that is emerging! I have also been working to set up The Lisa Hilton Quintet tour in 2027 appearing in Chicago, Baltimore, PA and at Carnegie Hall again - hopefully adding a few more stops.
