It’s been a busy start to the year don’t you think?
The photo above is after I had lunch with the new president of Berklee College of Music, Jim Lucchese in Los Angeles. I think he will be an excellent president for Berklee & wish him well!
Every year comes with a new energy and so far this year I’ve been spending some time talking about creativity, jazz and sharing how the songs on our new album Extended Daydream came about. I really enjoyed my Zoom session with Matt Silver at KSDS Jazz 88.3 in San Diego recently, and for making me feel so welcome during our interview. To me, Matt represents where the future of jazz is going, so if you haven’t checked out his show Breaking Jazz, you might be interested in listening in sometime. Our KSDS interview is on YouTube.
I’m also looking forward to talking with Mark L. Green at WAHS 89.5 this Tuesday 2/24 at 6pm EST for his show, An Hour of Jazz. So much of my music begins as a feeling before it becomes a note, and this Tuesday, I’m looking forward to
sharing the creative process behind my songs, and where they come from.
Upcoming on March 11th I will be talking with podcast host Bruce Wawrzyniak on his show, Now Hear This which will be airing free on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, SoundCloud, Pandora, and SiriusXM - debuting 3/11.

I also wanted to say I am very grateful that last year’s album, Lucky All Along, won an award for Best Jazz Album, and that my tune Hollywood Moment won for Best Jazz Solo Performance at the World Entertainment Awards January 31st in Hollywood. Thank you to everyone at the World Entertainment Awards! We really appreciate this incredible recognition.
If you know me, you might have guessed that I am in the middle of another exciting “Composing Season”. I am just SO excited about my very new songs just emerging. Every year is different and I never know what I will end up with. I just love this very creative time every year. 😊
Lastly, I choose to make music to lift spirits, to remind us all that we are not alone. Our album “Extended Daydreams” is about keeping our daydreams alive - it is really our hopes that we are envisioning in a daydream. In challenging times we need to extend our daydreams to envision where we can see ourselves in a happier future. So we are thrilled that our new album, Extended Daydream, popped up to #7 on the Jazz Week chart this week, which we are very thankful for - what WONDERFUL NEWS that is!
