It's Been A Big Week...

Saturday night was a winning night! I am very grateful to say that last year’s album, Lucky All Along, won an award for Best Jazz Album, and that my tune Hollywood Moment won for Best Jazz Solo Performance at the World Entertainment Awards in Hollywood. Thank you to everyone at the World Entertainment Awards! We really appreciate the recognition.

Those two awards came in just a few days after our new album, Extended Daydream, popped up to #10 on the Jazz Week jazz chart just three weeks after it had a debut Jan 5th. A big thank you to jazz radio, jazz radio hosts and station managers, streaming stations and listeners everywhere too. Wow! 😊

I’d like to voice an opinion about music and jazz in particular: With all this talk in the media about A.I. lately, I believe we need jazz, and art, more than ever before! Even if you don’t actually know if something was created by a machine or a musician, I think that we feel it inside - we intuitively know because it feels real to us - at least to those who are listening. So hey, let’s keep listening to jazz in all its authenticity, imperfection and soul, because that is what we need to nourish our own very real spirits. Technology is here to help us in so many ways, but do not believe it cannot replace the intent and ability of art to connect us. So I have a BIG thank you to everyone listening to jazz and keeping it alive in a world where it’s more important than ever!
